On this week’s Health Show we present a very personal, award winning documentary from Radio Netherlands on the world of Chronic Lyme Disease entitled An Ode to Health and Ignorance.

Imagine the frustration of having a debilitating illness that many in the medical profession refuse to recognize? That's the situation for thousands of people who suffer from Chronic Lyme Disease. In 'An Ode to Health and Ignorance', Radio Netherlands’ Chris Chambers looks at his and other people's experiences with this disease to give an impression of what it's like to not only fight a disease but also the doubts and skepticism of doctors. At the recent 2007 New York Festival Awards, Chris Chambers was awarded a Bronze World Medal in the category "Health/Medical" for this radio documentary. It was originally broadcast in September 2006 on the R-N program Vox Humana and received an extraordinary amount of listener response. We present it here, edited only for time.
