If it's August, it must be time for our annual Summer Rerun Show!
For something that’s the third leading cause of death in the US and the number one cause of ongoing disability...there are a whole lot of people that don’t know a whole lot about stroke. On today’s Health Show, we’ll talk about the importance of knowing the symptoms of a stroke...and how quick action can lead not only to stroke survival...but perhaps stroke reversal. We’ll also get a report about a secret drug delivery system right to your home...your drinking water. And if you want to find some twins, triplets or even quads...take a trip to Massachusetts.

911 STROKE - STROKE REVERSAL
A quarter million Americans have a stroke every year...and there are four million stroke survivors living in the US, many with severe disabilities. But now, stroke survival isn’t the immediate goal...it’s stroke reversal. Here to talk about this is Dr Rob Rymer, who along with his wife Dr. Marilyn Rymer is the author of “911 Stroke! True Stories Of Stroke Reversal”. We spoke late last year and I noted that all the stories of stroke reversal in his book involved, if you’ll excuse a bad pun, a stroke of luck.

Today, water agencies and consumers are still grappling with some unanswered questions: Do these tiny amounts of drugs pose any health risk? And if so, what can we do about them? Amy Standen reports.

Multiples in Massachusetts
I don’t know if there’s something in the water in Massachusetts...but something’s going on. The Bay State has more twins, triplets and quadruplets than any other state in the nation. Experts suspect it has to do with the state's many wealthy, highly educated women, who delay childbirth to pursue careers. But older woman have a harder time conceiving, so they often look to A-R-T, or assisted reproductive technology. Rebecca Sheir told the story.
