Hey, remember back in January when the Swine Flu was just a memory from the 70s? A lot has happened since then...and it all began in a little town in Mexico. On this week’s Health Show, we’ll hear the story of the H1-N1 flu’s patient zero. Then we’ll find out about a unique health problem that you probably haven’t thought about much...what happens when a meth lab is busted and new people move into the house? Plus we’ll hear from the family “health nudge”...and you know every family has one.

SWINE FLU'S PATIENT ZERO?
Sometimes it seems like we’ve been talking about the Swine Flu forever, but it’s only been a few months since the Swine Flu media fever broke out. And little Edgar Hernandez was at the center of it. Edgar lives in the rural village of La Gloria, in Mexico’s Veracruz state. Back in April, the then four-year-old was the first confirmed case of swine flu. Edgar became a celebrity of sorts, with appearances on radio and TV. But things haven’t gone well for his family since the headlines died down. The World Vision Report’s Susana Seijas recently traveled to La Gloria and met Edgar and his family.

Meth Lab Aftermath
Crystal meth is a highly addictive drug that is produced in thousands of private, personal meth labs around the country. Every state in the union is dealing with the problem of these labs. When law enforcement busts a meth lab, chemical residues, including meth itself, linger on the floors, counters and walls. Almost a year and a half ago, the Wyoming legislature passed a law regulating the clean-up of these former meth labs. But the details of that law aren't written yet...and many feel the health of their neighborhoods hangs in the balance. Addie Goss reports.

The Health Nudge
Somewhere along the line, she’s not quiet sure when, our friend Sandy Daigler became her family’s health nudge. Sandy Daigler is a writer and architect living in Troy, New York. She insists a nice piece of fish never hurt anyone.
