Welcome to 2010! A fresh, new year giving us a chance for a fresh, new start. What a perfect time to see where we stand on health care reform. On this week’s Health Show, we’ll start off with another segment of Reform School. Then we’ll head to Texas and find out about a facility that cares for people who are at the end of their journey. And then we’ll jump an ocean or two and find out how the African republic of Tanzania is fighting a double battle against Malaria...and counterfeit Malaria drugs.

HEALTH CARE REFORM SCHOOL - 3
After going through a lot of noise, angst and paper...both houses of congress passed health insurance reform legislation before the end of 2009. Now it’s time for the house and senate to reconcile the two bills in conference before sending the finished product to the president for his signature. Joining us again to go over what was passed and what may or may not survive the final cut is Timothy Hoff a professor of health policy and management at the University at Albany School of Public Health in Albany, New York. Tim is also the author of the new book Practice Under Pressure - Primary Care Physicians And Their Medicine in the Twenty First Century.

Malaria Drugs - Friend Or Faux
The leading cause of death for children in the United Republic of Tanzania is Malaria. The disease can be easy to treat with the right drugs...and the right drugs are available. But there’s a growing problem in this African nation, and in much of the developing world that threatens more lives every day: counterfeit drugs. The World Vision Report's Gretchen Wilson reports.
