You want to have a healthy heart? Keep your cholesterol down. You won’t find many people who’ll argue with that. But is keeping your cholesterol down enough. On this week's Health Show we’ll find out why doctors are moving away from using cholesterol as a barometer for heart disease and treating the whole person instead. We’ll also hear about C-Reactive Protein...and why testing your levels might be part of your next check up. Sandy D drops by to remind us it’s all about the diet and exercise, stupid. And we’ll hear about a new study that says you’re probably not as involved in your healh care as you should be.

Sandy D - Keep On Keeping It Off
In all the discussion about cholesterol and CRP and statins, there is always that one part where the doctor says you should lose weight with a good diet and exercise. That’s the part where our friend Sandy Daigler usually rolls her eyes and says “duh!”. Now, keeping the weight off...that’s another thing altogether. Sandy Daigler is a writer and architect living in Troy, New York where she continues being exactly who she wants to be.

Are You Involved In Your Own Health Care?
During the debate over health reform a lot was said about people who have little or no access to health care. Now, a new study by the Center for Advancing Health says that a lot of people who do have access to care don’t use it. Here to talk about the study is Dr. Jessie Gruman, founder and president of the Center for Advancing Health Care in Washington, DC.
